A little extra touch of brightness can do a world of different. Use the dodge tool:

The settings for the dodge tool should be “Highlights” at around 50% exposure. Choose a soft circular brush anout the size of the eye and brush the eye with it. Then select a slightly larger brush and use it on the sides of the lover lip (or somewhere that already has a glare). Lastly, use a very large brush and run it quickly from the top of the face to the bottom. Here’s my example, before and after:
